SG News readership survey

how many of you do now or have subscribed to SG news or ever bought it off the rack? Just wondering, I got a sneaky feeling its not a small number.

PS I used to subscribe, now I just buy one if I'm looking for something specific

I've bought and subscribed to handgun magazines, which also carried shotgun articles, but stopped abiut 10 years back now....I only bought my shotguns recently, so haven't subscribed to any of those mags.

Re: SG News readership survey

shotgun news is an advertising list basically, pages of pages of advertising, mostly wholesalers aimed at retail, but also classifieds, ammo deals, parts kits, you name it. if you want to know the best prices for any US recreational gun related commodity this is it.

One a month they usually have some good articles too, that good Greek boy Peter Kokalis writes for em sometimes. The mix of offerings and articles is about Half and half collector and shooter oriented stuff.

I've bought it from the rack a few times. That thing is a menace to my wallet! :D

it provokes buying yes but at least you know what the lower range of market prices are. esp for ammo-- whats the point of paying too much? I have never seen ammo for less than what could be had in SG news at a gun shop and DEFINITELY not at gun shows where gougers work the ignorant.

How about mooch off of friends? ;)

I was planning on getting a sub when I got my C&R... However with 2 kids born in the past 3 years, I've dropped my gun spending especially on the older stuff and most of the stuff in SG I can find online... I do like SG because it's all right there in one place and I'm not stuck sitting in front of a computer screen trying to get prices.

I like SG and if they sent me another 'intro' signup for a buck an issue I'd defintaely subscribe.

I grew up with SG. My dad always had one laying around. That and a jc whitney catalog. I still buy probably one a month. Good mag for price checks and new stuff.

It comes three times a month. When I'm done with them I pass them out to whom ever wants them. I always take a few to the dentist or doctors office.

Hmm, I see. For myself, I dont have time to dink around online for gun stuff when I need something-- I find that when I got to lay hands on something, a paper marketplace like SG news is handy and fast
